Dear Gayle J. Sociopathy - difficult question since this is not a disease per se, however, more a type of deviance. I is based on the current social norms what behaviors are viewed as sociopathic. It is even should be treated to protect the majority of society. The best would be prevention - during childhood, after a certain age, it is rather difficult to change such a personality.
