Dear Lindsay,
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful and enlightening story. You have the tremendous advantage of having seen "the island" at two distant times. Your observations carry the wisdom that comes from such long-term comparisons made by someone who really knew the place. I really hope you will write about it (if you have, please give us the reference). It is not just crucial programmatic information, it is also a wonderfully written piece. You could write a professional journal article, or a personal essay. The latter would reach a wider audience, but the former might have more influence on rehab program planners.
Please feel free to share more anecdotes on this forum.
