Re:Training other than psychodynamic

In your search for alternative approaches to art therapy,
check out Judith Rubin's recently updated classic
"Approaches to Art Therapy".

You might also be interested to know that there are several training programs that are not psychodynamically based, including Naropa Institute and I believe there is also a program in New Mexico that is Jungian based. Transpersonal theories are working their way into the field, as well as insight meditation, etc... so keep looking!

Just a practical word: the licensure and certification exams still rely heavily on traditional therapy approaches, but even they are focusing less on psychodynamic theory and more on short term, solution oriented approaches.
