    Great initiative!
I know David R. Henley, Ph.D., has done art therapy work with deaf children. If you can't arrange to meet him or contact him, you could take a look at his book, "Exceptional Children, Exceptional Art" (Davis Publications, 1992), which includes a two page section on working with the hearing impaired (p44, 45). The rest of his numerous publications might also contain things of interest to you, either in text or in the reference lists.
