    Right Hemisphere Disability

    Dear All,
A right hemisphere disability, otherwise known as Non-Verbal Learning Disability (NLD), is characterized by deficits in three major areas.

    1. Motor--Fine and Gross motor skills are impaired
    2. Visual/Spatial Perception is impaired
    3. Social Skills are impaired

Because of years of failure and rejection, people with NLD tend to develop depression and anxiety. They do not respond well to traditional therapy.

    My question is this:

Which of the Creative Arts Therapies would be best for a person with NLD?

The motor coordination and visual/spatial problems would affect both art and dance. Auditory therapies like writing or music would be easier for a person with NLD to do.

Still, which therapy would provide the most benefits? One that addresses both emotional and neurological problems? Or one that only addresses emotional problems?

    What's your opinion?
