    Looking for some ideas
    Gillian Young-Miller · 8/23/97 at 5:51 PM ET

I am currently returning to school to finisn my B.A. in a unique program here in Chicago at DePaul University called the School for New Learning. I have the freedom within this program to design my course of study, within a framework of course. I plan to focus on creative writing, as a form of art therapy, including play, storytelling, but also to include poetry, and even rap (I work with inner-city youth).

I have found art as not just therapy for me, but as survival. The youth I work with have taught me a lot about this and are open to ideas, but I have found that academia is not. Please give me suggestions on how to incorporate creative writing as a creative arts therapy tool, which I can explore in my studies. I will look for a response here, but also please feel free to e-mail me at gymG22@juno.com.
