A Rose by Any Other Name...

I'm not a music therapist, but I've worked on music as therapy related projects with several graduate nursing students. One thing that bothers me is the lack of recognition regarding harm music may do a patient. Any intervention that is powerful, also carries risk with it. I developed a screening table for one of the students to use with her project to help her recognize patients for whom music may be contraindicated, especially when attempted by non-specialists. MLW
