    working with patients
Doug Goodenow · 10/7/99 at 1:44 pm ET

In working with patients, is it fair to ask whether a therapist's understanding of a patient's lifestyle (or actions) arises more from an intellectual or emotional level? In other words, how much is taken from the therapist's "gut feelings" about the person and how much is deduced intellectually?

    Much thanks,

    Doug.
