Default AAGT Manchester conference (23-27 July 2008)

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the recent Association for the Advancement of Gestalt Therapy (AAGT) conference held in Vancouver, Canada was a resounding success. There were 200 participants in attendance, from America, Canada, the UK, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, Germany, South Africa, India, Israel, Australia, Bermuda, Japan, New Zealand, and the Philippines - helping to create a truly international Gestalt community.

Participants were able to enjoy pre-conference marathons and workshops, and over the course of the conference itself, a wide range of workshops from international trainers and therapists, process groups, a harbour cruise, a dinner dance, special interest group meetings, and community meetings.

We would like to thank the Vancouver organisers, and everyone who was in attendance, for bringing your energy, interest and excitement to the conference, and for creating a deep and resonant sense of community.

Following on from this, we are delighted to announce that the 2008 AAGT international conference will be held in Manchester, England, on 23 - 27 July. Please keep these dates free in your diaries. You may also want to set aside extra time for any pre-conference activities, and to enjoy sightseeing in and around Manchester.

We recommend the AAGT website <http://www.aagt.org/> and AAGT2 web portal <http://www.aagt2.org/> for more details of how the Vancouver conference went. We will keep both sites updated with information on the Manchester conference, and you will eventually be able to book your place via the AAGT website. Please bookmark these websites and check back regularly - particularly those of you who have already expressed an interest in offering a workshop in Manchester, or are thinking of doing so. We will call for proposals there in the future.

You may also wish to approach your AAGT Regional Contact Person <http://www.aagt.org/html/regions.html> for postcards advertising the
Manchester conference. We hope to make these available soon.

Please contact the Manchester co-convenors, Mae Tang <manchester08@googlemail.com> and Jenny Edwards <AAGT08@googlemail.com> with any questions, feedback, etc. And please also forward this e-mail on to any colleagues who you think might be interested.

We are excited about bringing AAGT's international community to Manchester, and look forward to welcoming you there.

Best wishes,

Mae Tang and Jenny Edwards (Convenors)
on behalf of the Manchester Planning Team
