Default Re: Discussion of CCWAA, Vol. 4, Chapt. XXIII & XXIV (Prostitution, Neglected Children)

I did a brief web search and found only two authors (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) who mention Popper and Vaihinger in the same paragraph. Your comment about philosophers excluding arguments based on different assumptions reminds me of the framing hypothesis of George Lakoff in his book Don't Think of an Elephant. He proposes that conservatives and progressives in the United States frame their policies on either "strict father" or "nurturing parent" metaphors, with contrasting world views about human nature. Lakoff suggests that voters may ignore the real consequences of political platforms and unconsciously lean toward an image that reflects their personal identity. This also inhibits communication between the "alien tribes."
