Default Newbie here & would like some help please!!

Hi, i'm starting the EMDR training at the end of this month (part 1). I have also signed up for 2 & 3 later in the year. I'm looking for any useful websites for articles, worksheets & some recommended books.

i have been given instructions to read Shapiro: EMDR: Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing, Basic principles, protocols & procedures. Has anyone got this to sell cheap? (aren't I cheeky)

Anyway hello everyone

Sandra Paulsen Phd has written a book that is called: "Looking through the Eyes of Truama and Dissociation ... an Illustrated Guide for EMDR Clinicians and Clients...check out her website Bainbridge Institute for Integrative
Psychology, (Washington State) and read more about it.

Shapiro's text (2nd Edition) is the GO TO source for the basic EMDR protocol. There are many other good books and hundreds of articles about EMDR. Recent books include Forgash & Copeley on EMDR and Ego State Therapy, Francine Shapiro et al on Family Therapy, Francine Shapiro also has several other books for professionals and the public.

Robin Shapiro has EMDR Solutions, volume 1 and 2 is on its way.

Marilyn Luber has a two volume set coming out this year.

Ricky Greenwald, Joan Lovett, Bob Tinker and Sandra Wilson also have books, all about EMDR and children. Ana Gomez has a book FOR children on EMDR "Dark Bad Day, Go Away" which also helps with the child parts of some dissociative clients.

And there is mine, coming out soon, as Francesca has described. It has over 100 original cartoons and is intended to convey concepts about trauma, dissociation and EMDR to the public as well as to therapists.

For a bibliography on EMDR go to www.emdr.com.

There are more too, but there is a good recent start!

If you have special questions about special populations, let me know.

Good luck with your training, I can't imagine practicing without EMDR.

I may look into that book, someone very special to me is going to start EMDR training, I need to understand it better, so I can support her properly.
