Question ADHD

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
Could you please tell me -
a) psychological causes,
b) how 'attention deficit' and 'hyperactivity' are related and
c) possible approaches for intervention?
Thanking you,
Chayan Das.

This is not my area of expertise. Perhaps there is an ADHD discussion forum...or others who can help.

I don't know what hypnosis is - but I had a feeling that the situation with an ADHD child appears just the opposite of trance state where one is restful and having deep attention. And I wondered whether parenting style that leads to ADHD could have something that is related to hypnosis. But most probably these were nonsense guesses.

At present I don't have anyone with ADHD to deal with. I just felt that it would be worth asking and learning about the subject, and as I found that ADHD is not related to hypnosis, I lost all my interest about it.

I don't know how I can thank you for your sincere effort to help me.

While it is always good to reduce uncomfortable or growth inhibiting symptoms, it is much better to cure the problem altogether. Remember that one does not study the monkey correctly when it is taken out of the natural habitat.
