Default medication

I read a while ago about not doing EMDR on clients who are on certain medication. I however cannot find this again so does anyone know which medications to avoid?

Default Re: medication

No, it's not contraindicated. Rather, when people are on some medications - especially antidepressants, but it could be others -- and do EMDR there may be a portion of the unprocessed material that is not processed as it is suppressed by the medication. Then when the person goes off, there may be an emergency of some symptoms, and the remedy is, in part, to go back and check that the EMDR is complete. The suppressed material may have reemerged and require processing to completion, now that the person is off the medications.
