Cool Brits Have Doubts

Maybe there is some hope for that mass of collectivists in the mother country.

"Poll: most Britons doubt cause of climate change
"Juliette Jowit, environment editor
The Observer,
Sunday June 22, 2008

"The majority of the British public is still not convinced that climate change is caused by humans - and many others believe scientists are exaggerating the problem, according to an exclusive poll for The Observer."

Smile Re: Global Warming Cools Down

Jim

There are a couple other elements "global warming alarmists" leave out.

And they are, Cosmic radiation, when the earth in its revolutions around the sun pass through "clouds" of cosmic radiation it becomes trapped in our atmosphere this effects cloud cover by increasing cloud coverage around the globe therefore; if you have more cloud cover, less sunlight reaches the earth due to be being reflected back into the atmosphere. This cycle cools our oceans which hold a vast amout of co2 more than plantlife on land and manmade co2.

When our oceans cool down they absorb co2. This is followed by declining temperatures due to less co2 in our atmosphere.

The natural way to disperse this cosmic radiation is the sun. Solar flares disperse or blow away the cosmic radiation and clears our atmosphere allowing cloud cover to be less, thus less cloud coverage more sunlight reaches the planet and warms our oceans.

When the oceans warm up their ability to hold co2 is effected and more co2 is released into the atmosphere, causing a rise in global temperatures, and these natural cycles effect the weather.

When the "prophet" of doom Al Gore presents his little temperature charts overlapped with co2 levels in his indoctrination speeches and his "documentry". Al is really presenting facts that have been extrapolated to dupe his followers into believing that rising co2 levels preclude a rise in temperature.
The truth is, a rise in temperature is followed by higher co2 levels "ocean effect".

Most climatologists that study solar flare activity have noticed a very low level of activity and they claim that the sun has not been this "quiet" since the middle ages, when the earth was very cool.

Doesn't this argue the opposite? If they've "noticed a very low level of [solar flare] activity", shouldn't we be worried about global cooling?

Question Re: Global Warming Cools Down

Tom,

There are data and gamblers who remind us that while the north thaws, the south solidifies...ditto for mini-subs that sample sea temperatures...more later...

Tom,

We should not worry about Global cooling.

This is just part of our earths natural cycles. Back in the day when the "Ole' Timers" read the earths signs and seasons they understood by what they observed in nature and would prepare accordingly by responding to these signs, such as birds building nests higher, bee activity, animal behavior and other noticeable differences.
The "Ole' Timers" would accept these changes as part of the earths natural way of balancing itself. ( They adapted )

Now in our "scientific info age" with our technology, that the "Ole' Timers" did not have, we can measure temperatures to the umptenth degree and monitor/record these natural fluctuations. (We want to change these cycles)

The scientists having to depend on grant money from the government "our taxes" spin and weave a fantastic tale of destruction to create a state of fear among the ignorant "peasants" to keep the money flowing. (When I was a teenager these same scientists were claiming an ice age by this decade).

What next??? A good read is Michael Crichton's novel ---State of Fear---(a fictional book with FACTS) pay attention to the appendix and authors message.

You can also ask yourself these questions Global warming? or Global Governance? there are a couple books on this topic as well.

Without the Cold War to keep the good citizens under control, we need a new threat???

Cool Global Monckton

"Climate Sensitivity Reconsidered

"By Christopher Monckton of Brenchley

"Abstract

"The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC, 2007) concluded that anthropogenic CO2 emissions probably caused more than half of the "global warming" of the past 50 years and would cause further rapid warming. However, global mean surface temperature has not risen since 1998 and may have fallen since late 2001. The present analysis suggests that the failure of the IPCC's models to predict this and many other climatic phenomena arises from defects in its evaluation of the three factors whose product is climate sensitivity:

"Radiative forcing (changes in) F;
"The no-feedbacks climate sensitivity parameter K; and
"The feedback multiplier Æ’.

"Some reasons why the IPCC's estimates may be excessive and unsafe are explained. More importantly, the conclusion is that, perhaps, there is no "climate crisis", and that currently-fashionable efforts by governments to reduce anthropogenic CO2 emissions are pointless, may be ill-conceived, and could even be harmful."

Cool Re: Global Warming Cools Down Some More

Tulips still for sale? Maybe fewer than in prior months. And will Gore give refunds?

Arrow Global Warming Cold

A personal opinion: it's time to affirm Algore as nuts...

JimB

"2008 was the year man-made global warming was disproved
"Christopher Booker
"28 Dec 2008

"...First, all over the world, temperatures have been dropping in a way wholly unpredicted by all those computer models which have been used as the main drivers of the scare....After several years flatlining, global temperatures have dropped sharply enough to cancel out much of their net rise in the 20th century....the poles remain defiantly icebound and those polar bears fail to drown. Even the more cautious scientific acolytes of the official orthodoxy now admit that, thanks to "natural factors" such as ocean currents, temperatures have failed to rise as predicted.

"Secondly, 2008 was the year when any pretence that there was a "scientific consensus" in favour of man-made global warming collapsed. At long last, as in the Manhattan Declaration last March, hundreds of proper scientists, including many of the world's most eminent climate experts, have been rallying to pour scorn on that "consensus" which was only a politically engineered artefact, based on ever more blatantly manipulated data and computer models programmed to produce no more than convenient fictions.

"Thirdly, as banks collapsed and the global economy plunged into its worst recession for decades,...panicking politicians are waking up to the fact that the world can no longer afford all those quixotic schemes for "combating climate change" with which they were so happy to indulge themselves in more comfortable times."

Arrow A Little Ice Age, Now on Your Lawn

More data...

"As we've noted, 2008 has been a year of records for cold and snowfall and may indeed be the coldest year of the 21st century thus far. In the U.S., the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration registered 63 local snowfall records and 115 lowest-ever temperatures for the month of October.
"Global thermometers stopped rising after 1998, and have plummeted in the last two years by more than 0.5 degrees Celsius. The 2007-2008 temperature drop was not predicted by global climate models. But it was predictable by a decline in sunspot activity since 2000.

"When the sun is active, it's not uncommon to see sunspot numbers of 100 or more in a single month. Every 11 years, activity slows, and numbers briefly drop near zero. Normally sunspots return very quickly, as a new cycle begins. But this year, the start of a new cycle, the sun has been eerily quiet.

"The first seven months averaged a sunspot count of only three and in August there were no sunspots at all — zero — something that has not occurred since 1913.

"According to the publication Daily Tech, in the past 1,000 years, three previous such events — what are called the Dalton, Maunder and Sporer Minimums — have all led to rapid cooling. One was large enough to be called the Little Ice Age (1500-1750)."
