Question OCD

Need help in deciding about obsessive thoughts in an adult male. Client gets thoughts in his head and they won't leave. they are not the classic gory obsessive thoughts. These are like--"If I hear a name and it is associated with something, I keep thinking of that association." eg "If I hear that a person's name is Rock, I keep thinking of bump, bump, bump all day." Is this classic OCD? So far, doesn't seem to be anything that he does to make the thought go away, and he can't associate a fear with these thoughts.
