Default Call for Proposals

CALL FOR PROPOSALS
DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING PROPOSALS IS NOVEMBER 15, 2007

"Borders and Bridges: Differentiation in Contact"
Association for the Advancement of Gestalt Therapy - An International Community
9th International Conference

Manchester, England
July 23-27, 2008

Join Keynote Speakers Gaie Houston and Malcolm Parlett, with Lynne Jacobs, Daan Van Baalen, Margherita Spagnuolo Lobb, and colleagues from around the world, such as Talia Levine Bar Yoseph, Sylvia Fleming Crocker, Michael Clemmens, Charles and Ann Bowman, Brian and Jenny O’Neill, Seán Gaffney, Peter Philippson, Dan Bloom, Bud Feder, Joseph Melnick, Susan Gregory, Philip Brownell, Ansel Woldt, Marlene Blumenthal, Gary Yontef, and Conference Convenor, Sarah Fallon.

Opening ceremonies will be on the evening of Wednesday, July 23rd.

THEME - “Borders and Bridges: Differentiation in Contact”
Borders and Bridges will be a celebration and exploration of meeting whilst acknowledging differences -- maintaining awareness of the dissimilarity, uniqueness and novelty in our experiences, interests, perspectives, theories, cultures, and the process of differentiation or "making-different" in and of itself. Standing side-by-side, we invite you to explore our standing apart whilst building bridges toward one another.

We encourage innovative and creative presentations, student papers, and presentations based on research projects relating the conference theme to gestalt theory, neuroscience and mind-body dimensions of gestalt practice, transpersonal dynamics, spiritual and religious experience, clinical practice, social justice, and organizational change. Presentations may be theoretical, clinical, and/or experiential, and they may be demonstrations, panels, video presentations, and/or discussions. Conference presentations will be approximately two hours in length, allowing time for participant discussion, and will be selected by the conference planning committee following blind peer review.

The Call for proposals utilizes TWO presentation proposal forms. Form A has identifying information on it, but form B is anonymous and used to facilitate our blind peer review process. People have two options in completing the forms: (1) download the forms in MS Word format, fill out the interactive form fields that are included on them, save them to a file on your computer, and then attach them to an email message, sent to our peer review committee (peer.review@aagt-manchester08.org); (2) send a message asking for an email version of the forms, complete the information asked for, all within the body of the email, and then send it to our peer review committee (peer.review@aagt-manchester08.org).

OPTION ONE: Go to the web page (http://www.aagt-manchester08.org/proposal-forms.html) and click on the links identified as forms A and B below to download the forms to your computer; fill them out using the instructions on them, and send them in.
