If I may chime in and pose a question for both of you:

Is it possible (or is there any evidence of) that during these (oh, so familiar) hours of "Dr. Brody’s illumination" (inebriation aside) at 2-3am that our brains have different arousal and/or biochemical activity in the left versus the right hemisphere as opposed to "normal" day-time activity? Furthermore, is it possible that this state is somehow akin to a well-known hypnogogic state phenomenon?
