The 'self' adjusting to the 'other' in marriage

I am reading an MA degree in gestalt psychotherapy and need some help with regards to literature.

I need literature regarding the self and the other in marriage and how one adjusts to the other.

Any comments or reading lists are welcome .

thanks
teresa

Hi Teresa,

This post might be a little bit late, but I can share with you anyway some books that my Gestalt supervisor uses in her practice (and now in mine too).

They are: 'Embracing Ourselves' and 'Embracing Each Other' both by Hal Stone and Sidra Stone (formerly Sidra Winkleman).

The first one deals with the many selves/persona's that each of us may have;
the second deals with how our own selves/persona's interact with the selves/persona's of another person.

A review of these books can be found @ Amazon.com

Hope this is useful,
Matthew
