Hello, I am new to this forum. I work in a community mental health organization that serves a high population of chronic mentally ill consumers. I would like to hear from others if they have used CT/CBT with consumers with Schizophrenia or forms of. Or, does anyone know of any resources that I could search to find this type of information? Thank you in advance for your responses. Angela |
Re: CT/CBT with Schizophrenia disorder
If you check in the archives you'll find quite a bit on CBT with schizophrenia. Also, hopefully some forum participants who work with schizophrenia will respond here.

Re: CT/CBT with Schizophrenia disorder
I am new to this forum. I have a patient with schizoaffective disorder. She has erotomania, delusion of reference and delusional perception. Due to her liver problem and bad history of intolerability to mood stabilizer and antipsychotics, CBT may be a good way to help her. But i need advise how to do it. Thank you.

Special issue on CT/CBT with psychosis
A great deal of interesting work has been done recently on applying CBT with psychosis.
A Norwegian colleague recently alerted the Academy of Cognitive Therapy mailinglist that the May 2007 issue of The Journal of the Norwegian Psychological Association is a special issue (in English) called: Towards a new understanding of psychosis. the issue consists of 15 papers on topics such as CBT of psychosis (therapy, early intervention, relapse prevention, negative symptoms), CBT of bipolar disorders, treating comorbid disorders in psychosis, etc and it looks very promising. Best of all, the entire issue can be downloaded free of charge from http://www.psykologtidsskriftet.no/i...=16988&a=start |
Re: CT/CBT with Schizophrenia disorder
Patricia Bach and Steven Hayes published this study on the use of ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) to reduce re-hospitalization of patients with psychotic symptoms.
