Re: How do I find good training in Cognitive Therapy?

I wanted to let everyone know that there is a new online resource for therapy CEUs. www.live-learning.com provides CEUs for psychotherapists using live streaming video over the Internet (you can watch the session from anywhere in the world). The experience is similar to live television and you can interact live with the instructor via chat, video chat, and telephone (it is not pre-recorded). We will be announcing new CBT trainings very soon so please take the time to check us out.

The BABCP has a list of PG Dips/M.Sc/PhDs in CBT in both the UK and the Republic of Ireland on their site : http://babcp.com/training/cbt-training-courses/
These post-grad qualifications are solely in CBT.

Elsewhere in Europe, the EABCT has a list of CBT organisations in 30 countries: http://www.eabct.com/members_list.htm

Excellent suggestions.

For those interested in the Cleveland Center for Cognitive Therapy's offerings, information can be found at http://www.behavioralhealthassoc.com...alPrograms.php. The registration deadline for this year's intensive training program will be here soon so sign up promptly if you want to be in this year's program.

How do I find good training in Cognitive Therapy

Using this technique with my blind clients will be good. I find myself so interested in learning how their ear works that I have not used this technique with any of them yet. I will try it tomorrow and see what happens.

If you go to the BABCP website you'll find a list of CBT courses run in Ireland, both Northern Ireland and the Republic. I teach on the Foundation, PGDip, and MSc CBT in Trinity College Dublin if you want to contact me backchannel.

I think the best training for CBT is integrative.

By that I mean it combines CBT with present-oriented meditation styles.

Thoughts alone don't deal with the whole person, but thought therapy in combination with whole-brain approaches, like meditation, can be very effective.

hello claesjanson! Yes, in modern technique of counselors they combined CBT with CRT because they know that new behaviors can be learned and replace the defective behaviors and reactions which I believe also as an effective technique of conquering social phobias. However, all of this technique is of no use if you within yourself don't want to believe that you could overcome or fight from this. ;)
