Gestalt Australia and New Zealand Conference
The 5th GANZ
International Conference
September 8-10 2006 | Melbourne
Hilton on the Park
192 Wellington Parade
East Melbourne

Now is our time.

The time is now.

Then and next live in
our contemporary experience, influencing our hopes
and dreams, shaping all that we do.

In 2006 GANZ will be 10, and it will be 55 years since
the publication of “Gestalt Therapy: Excitement and
Growth in the Human Personality.” GANZ is in its youth
and the founding text of Gestalt is almost at retirement
age! Will we keep our theory relevant? Will we
revitalise our practice? We are at a critical time in our
development as Gestalt practitioners.

It is time to remember and celebrate our unfolding
story – individually and collectively, locally and globally.
Whom do we honour? What do we value? What
have we achieved? This conference will be a place for
story telling.

But our looking back must also carry us forward. It is
time to live the vision. How might the essence of
Gestalt contribute to realising our human, social and
environmental potential? In an age of ever-increasing
regulation and fear, how will we hold to our valuing of
creativity, uncertainty, and connectivity? To what vision
of society do we reach? How might we contribute?
What might we offer? This conference will be a
place for exploring possibilities, forming intentions and
taking action.

In remembering our story we hope you will be inspired
to live the vision. We warmly invite you to attend this
innovative conference. We promise creative, supportive
and challenging opportunities for you and the Gestalt
community to connect, talk, celebrate, renew and act.
