Induction Technique

Dear stephen lankton;

May I just ask you what you regard as the most simplest and most effective induction technique. I have used progressive relaxation and closed eyes methods.
I bought an old publication with a tape from the states (Amazon) of Mr Milton Ericsson and Rossi where he talks to a client and his wife simultaneously about Phantom Limb pain and tinniitis and they couple seem to be conscious and awake while he is giving the suggestions?
So are direct induction and deepening techniques correct or is it all about the client simply being in a responsive and/or open minded state irrespective of any deepening or induction techniques being conducted?
Thank you

Re: Induction Technique

Erickson (note spelling) was trying to do good therapy. Good therapy has much to do with how one talks to clients and little to do with hypnosis or depth of trance.
