Dear Dr.Klein and others: Sorry to have to inform you but the "decision " to normalize homosexuality was a political and not scientific one.One doesn't do science by taking a vote. Hooker's researcxh has been shown to be quite biased and faulty despite what you may have heard. I suggest a careful reading of A Freedom too Far by Charles Socarides The Battle for Normality by Gerard Van Den Aaardweg Bieber et al Homosexuality-A Psychoanalytic Study of male Homosexuals. The pro-gay agenda has overlooked very good reseaerch which points to homosexuality as largelythe result of disturbed relationships in certain kinds of families esulting in men failing to achieve a proper masculine identification. Trouble is that to even raise these issues and talk about them in a scientific,ie.empirical way causes ad hominem arguments and attempts to silence discussion with the word "homophobic" as if there can not be a possible objection to the idea that homosexuality is not normal. Sexual McCarthyism is alive and well in this country. Read the research.Read Barret's(?) book on the politicization on this issue. And how "voting" was used to determine whether or nt this condition was normal.Voting indeed.!!! I am sorry that so many colleages have been intimidated by the fear of being called "homophobe"(which actuallymeans "fear of" and i doubt anyone really fears homosexuals at all.If anything people feel quite sorry for them) Let's look at all the research. ALL the research and not that promoted by the pro-gay agenda or gay researchers. This is NOT a political but a scientific question--or rather it should be. Albert R.Levy.PhD 5/1/9
And feel for them not being able to get the help they need to overcome their lifelong depressions.Society only makes worse what was already there from early childhood.
It would be most useful to have a scientific discussion about the research as to what "causes" homosexuality.Withot all the name calling.
