I'm not clear on the difference between something that is "horrendous emotionally" and something "devastating psychologically." Something that is devastating psychologically it seems to me would be horrendously emotional, but something that is horrendously emotional I can imagine may not be devastating in some sense but I'm not clear on what sense you have in mind. If I understood what you are referring to in relation to human sexuality in particular, we may be able to discuss this matter. I presume you are referring to stifling individuation in regard to one's sexuality since you posted to this forum and titled your message "sexual transference." You seem to be raising a very important issue; so I would be grateful if you could be a little more specific so I can be more clear about your meaning.
