Well...I don't think that the personal growth that sometimes comes out of affairs comes from "noble" intent, but personal growth can be an unintended result.It's silly to recommemd affairs as some sort of self-help activity, c'mon now. But, what about anima/animus attractions. . .Sometimes unconsummated attractions may be potentially more disruptive, as they last and last and last. Sometimes people get divorced unstead of having an affair, the former being more distructive. It depends on the individuals, I think. Affairs are as complex and multifaceted as people. I just do not think they are ALWAYS destructive.
