This forum is not an appropriate place to receive professional advice on your specific, personal issues. No one here would have enough information and background to give you the kind of help you might need. Since I have experience in this area, I am comfortable providing general information. Transvestic Fetishism is a condition in which the man experiences "recurrent, intense sexually arousing fantasies, sexual urges, or behaviors involving cross-dressing" (DSM IV). In other words, the cross-dressing is done for the sole purpose of sexual fulfillment. Not all cross-dressers have a fetish. Some experience a great deal of discomfort with their gender. They have a strong desire to be the opposite sex, enjoy stereotypical activities of the opposite sex, and feel they were born "in the wrong body". This condition is called Gender Identity Disorder (GID). Gender Identity Disorder is NOT a fetish. Both conditions can be treated by a competent therapist, although the process would be VERY different for each diagnosis. Some would argue that the only "cure" for GID is living as the opposite sex, without or without the full surgical treatment. To find a sensitive and competent therapist in your area, I would suggest trying www.transgender.org Good luck in your search.
