I think that tickling is definitely related to sex. It has long been pointed out by Havelock Ellis but was forgotten by later day scientists. It is not to be confused to a tactile sensition but it is a sense, such as pain. It has lately been studied by S. J. Blakemore between 1998-2001. I am planning to study it using signal detection theory (Clark, 1974). In attempting to do so, I am not being able to solve a technical problem that its contextual response, laughter, giggle, withdrawal, is not quantitatively related to stimulus intensity. I think that it is a foundamental difference from pain. I would seriously like to discuss this issue to any specialist.
