I do believe that the thesis, anti-thesis, synthesis process is one that can result in change and improvement. I do understand and have seen the "Bureaucratization, homogenization, and deindividuation" process in action in graduate and undergraduate schools result in a real disservice to students. I have met bitter clinicians who have not gotten over their negative experiences with professors who it seems played games with them thus making them anti-research for much of their careers. The three step process you describe sounds like an interesting one -- I hope to be kept informed at the least. Thanks for spelling this out for me.
