You refer to JIT and world class manufacturing principles -- these are re-engineering techniques (such as quality at the source and error proof processes) which can be broadly considered as part of OD I suppose. Your question Your question -- can I suggest ways to motivate people to team work behavior? I can make some suggestions but probably you know what they are already. One is having all group members understand they are stake holders and their efforts make a difference for them and the group. Another method is profit sharing and what is known as installation of ownership mentality. Another way to express this is in terms of win-win opportunities and outcomes. This is I know a bunch of words strung together -- but it is a starting point.Inportant to teamwork installation also is clarity of mission, reward structure, common identity etc -- how is all that?
-- is the trend to a mix of applications? I guess so -- but one can say that about most fields since there is constant searching for and experimentation with varied applications to see what is best under what conditions -- this being the nature of the hunt for efficieny and effectiveness which goes with the culture of constant improvement.
