Hello Daniela, What you've described as also happening in Europe (?) is happening world-wide. There is an epidemic of narcissism. And of course people are not going to talk about that easily. People at the top have the disorder (even Time magazine has pointed that out); and people at the bottom emulate those at the top without awareness of the roots of the disorder. This means there will be reluctance to talk about imaging (imaging is the heartlessness of narcissism---nothing there but images, performance and shame, self hate). I've found no open forums where this issue is discussed honestly. I was a member of a closed forum where this issue of resistance (to sharing power) by top management was discussed in the context of abuse of employees. This private forum no longer exists. It's great that you can think about these things. Frankly, I have the most hope for women changing the narcissistic pattern that is endemic to patriarchal corporate control. But it's only going to happen for women when they can understand this dynamic of growing narcissism---detachment from the earth. Women stand the best chance for doing this...Teresa was trying to point this out in the shame forum. Notice how the shame forum mostly avoids this issue too...when shame is central to understanding narcissism. I am having a one on one dialogue on the issue of evil, narcissism and shame with a woman writer in North Carolina, and a retired woman physician in Pennsylvania. I have hope when I speak with women...lots of heart available for truth seeking!! Carry on!!!
