What's the difference? In my opinion, unless the Personal crisis is the clients personal crisis, it should not be discussed. After all, is a client paying 50 to 100 hundred an hour to hear or worry about the therapists problems? I don't think so. It does not matter if the client asks. Therapists should NEVE EVER disclose their own current personal crises to a client. It's selfish. And unethical. Period. JMHO. If a therapist does not have a strong enough of a backbone to tell a client in a nice way it's not an appropriate topic for discussion, the therapist does not have the temperament to be a therapist or should somehow firm up their backbone and quick. Lest therapist ruins the therapeutic relationship.
