I am wondering how Yochelson's and Samenow's “Thinking Errors Characteristic of the Criminal Personality” would either contradict, or support Watzlawick’s Interactional View Theory. In particular, does anyone believe that the "punctuating the sequence" idea derived from “Family Homeostasis Suppositions”. Axiom 4, which describes that a sequence of events between two or more people is necessary to create a situation, is contradictory to Yochelson's and Samenow's thinking errors, in which criminals attempt to reason themselves out of guilt or blame someone else for their troubles? In criminal situations, that is? Can the two theories co exist or does one negate the other?
