The social worker claims that the only reason why the man is staying with her is for: 1.) Sex She can't see that the only reason he is with her is for sex and a free place to stay. So in other words in saying this she is also denigrating her female neighbor as well as the male, asserts that she can’t make up her mind for herself. So it’s the social workers job to attempt to sway her neighbors mind into accepting the social worker’s values and belief systems, instead of helping her neighbor to become aware of her own feelings. Which is specifically what the article discusses is wrong for mental health workers to do. What if the shoe was on the other foot? How about stay at home moms or wives or female lovers who stay at home to keep house, take care of family while the man goes out and works? Would the social worker, as a female, accuse another female who chooses to stay at home, as a person who only wants free sex and free rent? Or call them derogatory names if they are sick? I don’t think so. What happened to women’s liberation? Women want to have reversed roles, want more responsibility, feminists claim that they are all open minded about men staying at home ant keeping house or taking care of family. What happened to that idea? If a man actually buys into feminism, they get criticized by the feminists for being losers? What’s that about? It places men in a very confusing position. Woman want them to walk one way and when they do, they are told to not do that. Maybe, the reason why the man is staying with the woman, is because he is in love with her? Should he be kicked out AND denied treatment because he is sick? I don’t think so and that is a very poor value judgment and an assumption of the mans motives. As far as sex is concerned, how would the social worker know if that’s all he wanted was sex, unless she was either in there in the bedroom watching, or was the couples therapist?
2.) Free rent.
