Very good question John. I would say a cautious no. showing humor and humility about one's own limitations does not neccesarily require that. Although "I don't know. I am just a mere bot" could be a good phrase to use in difficult situations. If a bot is a servant in VR, propcleaner, game host, info bot etc. then it woud be good that it said at once that is just a program. Real time chats are in some kind of phase where the conventions have not yet been set. However many of the people already know what a bot is and to the others not just a bot but whole VR is somehow uncanny. Then there are people that pretend to be bots which is very interesting. And cyborgs are interesting as well: many in palace for example have some preprogrammed responses and the rest of the stuff they talk themselves.
