Quite true, Bots do seem to reflect the personality of the author, however, what I find more interesting is there ability to hold a conversation with a person or group of people without physically understanding the on-going conversation and learning from it. It makes clear to me the simplicity of language as a medium. Bots don't seem to be able to understand the 'state' of themselves and the 'state' of the people they are interacting with, these factors effectively define 'emotion' which ultimatly diferenciates a human from a bot they query the conversation on a 'what is happening' level and even that is limited as they do not learn from previous conversations and they do not get to 'know' people. A true artificial intelligence would question what each sentence is saying about it, about the person who said it and about what is being said. They would 'understand' the words said.
