I really appreciate your answer, John, and celebrate the existence of this forum. Psicoanalizarse.com is a very rich experience. We are receiving many consultations. We answer as soon as we can although some days we are unable to answer quickly because our occupations are many. The frame of our work are the premises of Freudien-Lacanian psychoanalysis (free asociation of words and ideas, dreams, acting outs, wittiness, etc.) in some cases. Our raw material is the word, so we started a formal meeting every saturday to study the difference between spoken and written word. My obsession is how to provoque effects with written words, and how to measure these effects. Next saturday we are going to discuss some chapters of your book. My best regards
Each analyst takes a few consultations a day and is responsible profesionally on them.
¿How do I ask somebody to start free association by mail?
We can´t do so at the beginning. There are a few or a lot of mails before we can do so. But once I consider that conditions are done to begin with free association i ask the patient to write his mail during fifteen minutes at least, keeping in his mind the idea of not to censor any idea, no matter how important or insignificant he/she considers it is. There is another thing I ask. This is: not to re-write anything. I need that raw material to work, so I prefer to get everything including errors, including typing errors too.
I think that after some time of analysis by mail, we can get something like an automatic writing which allows us the patient and the analyst to follow the way of free association, almost like in presential therapy.
