John - I think you're quite right, and I shiver everytime a new term like this is coined: how long before www.netintoxication.com is established? It does open an interesting avenue of thought tho' - why is there a continual search for Internet-based/caused pathologies? My guess is that there is still some cultural baggage associated with using computers that allows people to claim (no matter how weakly its supported) that people who use the Internet too much must be addicted, or that somehow logging onto a web site leads to pathological behavior of some sort (despite 20 years work on Computer Mediated Communication suggesting otherwise). Once we're all wireless, I can imagine the next concern will be 'Internet users fry brains in addicted frezy on WAP phones'. <sigh> BTW - if www.netintoxication.com is registered at somepoint, please don't blame me...
