You mentioned the word "addicton" in your text and I feel that this word is soo.... over used that it is almost changed the meaning of the word. When a person says that they are addicted to smoking, they are taking the blame of this problem off of them and stating that it is beyond their controll. When in reality they have complete controll over their "addicton" and the situation that he/she is in.
Smoking and sex are the two big problems that people say that they are addicted. When there are multiple steps that are involved in getting the material, like smoking, then it is a preference or a deciscion not a addicton. A Person has to get in the car, drive to the store, purchase the tobbacco, drive back home, and then smoke them. Now to say that they had no choice in the matter would be insane. After all of those choices they still say that it is an "addiction".
