I am would recommend trying some of the following" Have a stuff animal but it has to be big, monster type and kind of soft, but has funny features. Once you have picked on out and taken it to school you can. Or have a story time where the child uses small doll house size people as their family member and ask the children to pretend that the little people going on a vacation or an make believe trip and the child acts out the trip and have different groups and at the end of an hour each group shows their story-it will be show and tell! Drawing pictures of each parent and say what they like about that parent. Then create a funny story day, where all the children have to think of a funny story to tell the classand the child in question you can help him and another child think of a funny story. This way you get to go one on one with the child. Have them bring in their favorite and say what they like most. All toys are special but make sure that there are no bullying going on. Bullies are children who have been bullied no matter what the age. It sounds like this child either is witnessing violence at home or needs medication. I am not a pshchologist but I know these ideas will bring out some hidden information for you to work with. Nancy
Say every day we have an anger moment, if you are feeling anger you have to hug not tear apart, destroy or hit the monster. The monster will take the anger from the child and the child gets to release their anger.
