Re: THE CASE OF JOSEPH Part One

It is terribly disappointing for me to discover that members of my own profession have not bothered to read the research literature.

But more disappointig s the fact that no one seems to have quesytioned whathappened way back in 1973 when the APA(American Psychological Association) "decided" and "voted" to remove obligatory homosexuality from the list of mental disorders.

They never bothered to read the research literature and to this day still refuse to look at the research literature which demonstrates that many men have been helped to overcome the same-sex attraction problems that they wish to overcome because they are so dissatsified with their lives.
To deny this opportunity to countless men who wish to change,to not tell them and the public that help is available is tantamount to professional malpractice.

I suggest a reading of Ronald Bayer's book Homosexuality and American Psychiatry(1975) to see how this non-scientific,political
    decision was made.

This has strangly become such a "hot-potato" issue that my even raising it in this forum has produced nothing but emotional reactions and veiled personal attacks.I expected better of professionals.
    How disappointing.
