take a break from the types of clients you are dealing with! You can only do so much and handle so much! Can you take on some less complex cases? Are you getting so use to the complex ones that they are now normal? for you, kind of like the traumatic stress response itself almost. My suggestion, take on less complex cases. take a break. You will not be of any use to your clients, of any help to them, if this cycle continues! take care of your first of all and then you can help your client in a more healthy manner. I hope my response doesn't sound too trite! I just know that I would hate to see my own therapist in this situation and I would hope that he would know when it was getting too much and a break is needed. The work done to help those dealing with trauma is very demanding and the therapist must take care of themselves first of all.
