I see what you mean. I have gotten so focussed on the functional analysis aspect, which I find to be a required aspect of behavior analysis many times, that I get to labelling the whole package functional analysis. On the other hand, I have seen and even done a few reports based on what I would call functional analysis which provide recommendations across life areas. As I think about it, sometimes we use the term functional assessment and funcitonal analysis interchangably. My terminology is that the f.assessment is as you describe and the f.analysis, when done correctly, is more all encompassing though it does target problem behaviors. Oh, heck, it's all just words. Intuition suggests to me that this young person will excel beyond expectations and especially with folks like you providing service and advocating. Rock On!!
