GESTALT: A PART OF THE PICTURE
November 5, 1996
Our new Gestalt Therapy discussion forum has launched! I invite you to visit.
Owing to a stroke of very good luck (and a gentle nudge from Joe Wysong, a leading Gestalt publisher about whom you will hear more soon) we have snagged Brian O'Neill as our discussion facilitator.
I extend a warm welcome to Brian, who is director and a faculty member of several Gestalt training programs in Australia and a Senior Fellow at the University of Wollongong's Postgraduate Mental Health Program. He is a pioneer in postgraduate training using videoconference and multimedia technology and was part of a university team to win the prestigious gold medal award for "significant contribution to education and research" at the 1996 Australia and New Zealand Mental Health Services conference, presented by the Governor General, Sir William Deane. There's more about Brian's broad interests and accomplishments in our "About" section.
If you're new to the subject of Gestalt Therapy, you may want to take a look at a classic introductory paper on the topic, provided by courtesy of The Gestalt Journal Press. If you are an experienced gestaltist, please visit and join in the discussion with Brian and other leading contributors to theory, ressearch and practice.
The oxymoronic title of this note derives from the fact that The Gestalt Journal and Behavior OnLine will soon be collaborating on a series of projects and not until they are in place will we have achieved Gestalt: The whole picture.
