Default British and American art therapy- similarities and differences?

Hello

I am new here, and am about to begin my Masters in art therapy in England. I have an interest in the links and differences between art therapy practice in the UK and United States, and aim to make this an area of research during my studies.

My specific interest is in the possibilities of successfully practicing as an art therapist in the United States after studying, qualifying and working as one in the UK. My wife is American and so there is a possibility of us moving there in the future. At the very least I would expect some more further training and qualification would be needed when transferring from one country to the other.

Could anybody give me any tips on how to start looking into this? My absolute ideal would be to communicate with a British art therapist who relocated to the U.S. I can't be the only person ever to have considered this!

Any feedback is much appreciated.
