Sandra Scarr and others introduced the concept of "good enough mother." Renee Syler and Karen Moline made it the title of their popular book, The Good Enough Mother: the Perfectly Imperfect Book of Parenting. Simon & Schuster, March 2007.

The authors find convenient truths --- Syler is a news anchor as well as a mother --- that reinstate African memories.
